As an All-American at the high school and collegiate level, Alyssa Trudel set the bar for Vermonters to chase in women’s lacrosse. Trudel collected three high school state championships at Middlebury Union High, where her teams went 52-1-1, and added a trio of America East crowns at Boston University, where she graduated as the program’s second-leading scorer and set the career assist record.

Trudel’s exploits at BU include becoming the America East Player of the Year and a second team All-American as a sophomore in 2003, when she was the nation’s leading scorer (84 points) heading into the NCAA tournament. A two-time captain, she became the first Terrier to earn first-team All-America recognition as a senior in 2005 as she led BU to the NCAA Elite Eight (national quarterfinals) and a No. 3 national ranking. That year she was also a nominee for the Tewaaraton Trophy, awarded to the nation’s top college lacrosse player.

A three-time member of the America East All-Conference first team, she helped the Terriers to three conference titles over her four years, as named to the all-championship team and was the America East Championship’s Most Outstanding Player in 2005. She was also named to the all-region first team in 2003 and 2005. Her first season at BU she was on the America East All-Conference second team and an all-rookie team member. She won BU's John B. Simpson Athletic Leadership Award as a senior.

At Middlebury Union High, Trudel was a member of three state championship girls’ lacrosse teams from 1999-2001, helping cement the program as a perennial powerhouse, and also played basketball and soccer. The Tigers 2000 championship squad, which featured Trudel and two-other future D-I college players, won every game by at least nine goals.

Trudel was the Vermont Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association female athlete of the year for 2002-03, along side VSHOF inductee Taylor Coppenrath, the male winner. She was inducted into the Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.

She has served as an assistant coach at the University of Denver, starting in 2007, and has played, coached and officiated in the England Lacrosse Association. She is currently the head girls lacrosse coach at Mount Anthony Union High in Bennington.
